The Hill of Nigg may soon look like this ...

... unless we all act to prevent it.

A wind farm too far? - Falck Renewables (the developers) have applied to build and operate a five turbine, 10MW wind farm on the Hill of Nigg, in Easter Ross. The turbines will be around 400 feet (125 metres) high - that’s three times the height of Tarbet Ness lighthouse. Nigg Awareness Group has co-ordinated objectors’ formal response to the proposal.

December 2008:
The planning application, our detailed written submission in response to it and also the responses of statutory consultees (including Community Councils) are under review by the Highland Council. We do not expect any decision to be made for many months.

We will post any developments in that regard on this website, but if you have any questions, please contact Peter Grant - tel 01862 851589 or e-mail peterpitcalnie@btinternet.com

In the meantime, this site will give you more information about the proposal, why we object to it and how you can support the objection or become actively involved in our campaign.

We must try to stop this despoilation of our natural heritage and visual amenity - come and join us!
