... a wind farm too far?
In January 2008 - Falck Renewables (the developers) applied to build and operate a five turbine, 10MW wind farm on the Hill of Nigg, in Easter Ross. The turbines will be around 400 feet (125 metres) high - that’s three times the height of Tarbet Ness lighthouse. Nigg Awareness Group has co-ordinated objectors’ formal response to the proposal. The planning application, our detailed written submission in response to it and also the responses of statutory consultees (including Community Councils) are under review by the Highland Council. 21 March 2010 We will post any developments in that regard on this website, but if you have any questions, please contact Peter Grant by mail to Pitcalnie House, Nigg, Tain IV19 1QP - tel 01862 851589 or e-mail info@hillofnigg.org.uk In the meantime, this site will give you more information about the proposal, why we object to it and how you can support the objection or become actively involved in our campaign. This is the wrong place for a wind farm development, so we must try to stop this despoilation of our natural heritage and visual amenity - come and join us! |
