The original planning application was advertised by the Highland Council in February 2008; 326 letters of objection were submitted.
- Applicant: Falck Renewables Limited
- Application reference: 08/00066/FULRC
- Application is for: Construction of a five turbine wind farm and associated ancillary development at Wester Rarichie, near Nigg, Easter Ross.
- Letters to:
Director, Planning & Development
The Highland Council
Glenurquhart Road
INVERNESS IV3 5NX
- or e-mails to: planning@highland.gov.uk
It is currently anticipated that a major planning addendum will be submitted by mid April 2010. When the addendum is submitted the date it is advertised will be shown on this web site together with the expiry date for the public to lodge objections.
We encourage you to write again, to state or refresh your objection.
All members of a houshold, including minors, can object. All objection letters are considered to be separate objections.
The Highland Council acknowledges both letters and e-mails to home addresses: it is therefore necessary to state both your name and address and the application Reference Number on e-mails as well as letters.
If you have relatives or friends who would like to object to the application, we would be very grateful. Councils take the number of objection letters into account when determining an application.
Objections should:
-
be brief and avoid colourful language or criticism of the developer's integrity, reputation or financial motives.
- not contain arguments about global warming and/or the merits/efficiency of onshore wind farms in general terms - whether we like it or not, central government policy means these (however rational) will be disregarded.
- if the objector has a business that he or she feels may be affected, explain why and what the effect would be.
- Planning authorities will only take into account objections that are based on “material considerations”. For example strange though it may seem, the argument that a development would reduce house values is not a material consideration. Nigg Awareness Group are only to glad to help if you have any queries on this.
- be submitted within the prescribed 28 day period. However, in practice, objections filed after that time but before the actual planning hearing will still be taken into account.
