An inappropriate site
We submitted our objections in January 2008. They are, in brief:

While the Group is sympathetic in general to the aims of renewable energy, for the reasons set out in our written submission of 28 March 2008 we have invited the Council to refuse the Application. At a glance, our core grounds include the following:

  • The application site is inappropriate and ill-considered
  • The supporting Environmental Statement is inadequate and misleading
  • The Development would be significantly detrimental to (among others)
    • the landscape and unique natural environment around the Hill of Nigg and the Fearn/Tarbat peninsula
    • numerous valued cultural assets
    • all to the detriment of the future interests of the area, its people and visitors
  • The Development is contrary to the Development Plan and the Highland Council Renewable Energy Strategy
  • Significant local opposition to the Development.
